   Paralyzed and disabled, Serife Sulukan first needs urgent knee surgery. She was arrested for sending her child to a closed school and teaching there.

Paralyzed and disabled, Serife Sulukan was arrested for sending her child to a school that was closed down and for teaching there. For months she has been held in a single cell in Menemen R Type Prison. 
   However, it is unacceptable for Sulukan, who is paralyzed and cannot even take care of himself, to be in prison.

   Serife Sulukan, a physics teacher with a state of emergency decree, is disabled and paralyzed. She is unable to meet her basic needs such as bathing and toileting on her own. 
   Unfortunately, she has been condemned to live alone in prison. This situation makes Sulukan's daily struggle for survival even more difficult.



   Serife Sulukan, a physics teacher and a disabled paraplegic who has been imprisoned in Menemen R Type Prison since May 2022, also suffers from heart disease and epilepsy. Last May, the Forensic Medicine Institution gave her a 'persistent illness' report. 


   Serife Sulukan, a physics teacher with a state of emergency decree, who is imprisoned in Menemen R Type Prison, tells her family during every interview that she is not well and wants her voice to be heard. 
   A disabled and paralyzed woman should not be in prison!


   Bahadair Sulukan, the disabled and paralyzed son of Aserife Sulukan, says the following:

    "My mother tells me, 'Please, SOUND MY VOICE, I don't want anything else, I'm sick, I can't get what I need for my treatment, my psychology is broken, I'm alone and in a bad situation'."

   Serife Sulukan, who was affected by coronavirus and dismissed from her teaching job by a state of emergency decree, was paralyzed on her left side and was arrested on May 3, 2022. 
   
   Ms. Serife, who has a disability and epilepsy, is alone in Menemen R Type Prison.
